At a press conference held at the Cobb County School District office, over 40 parents, students, and community members came together to support the School Board’s decision to remove what they described as “pornographic” books from school libraries.
Organized by local leaders like Pastor Francisco Vega, the event emphasized the community’s commitment to protecting children from inappropriate content. “We will not be silent,” said Arielle Kurtz, highlighting that the majority of Cobb parents stand behind the Board’s actions.
11 Alive news aired a ridiculous and obvious partisan hit piece posing as news segment entitled “Some Cobb County Public School parents concerned that safety isn’t on meeting agenda”. On the surface, the news segment appears to cover concerns from some Cobb County Public School parents regarding school safety. Allegedly, these parents were frustrated that the topic wasn’t included in a recent board meeting agenda. The parents express their desire for more transparency and urgency from the school board to address these critical issues and keep students safe.

On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, Cobb County’s Chief Judge A. Gregory Poole of the Cobb Judicial Circuit declared a Notice of Judicial Emergency due to “significant disruptions” in Superior Court Clerk Connie Taylor’s office. The notice claims that the disruptions be because of the implementation of a new case management system (CMS) that was implemented beginning in June 2024.
Voters might find it ironic that Vickie Benson(D) the candidate challenging Randy Scamihorn for a seat on the Cobb Board of Education, finds herself in a rather peculiar situation. Our tipline received documents revealing that Chambers County, located over two hours away by car, is currently under the direction of the Federal Courts due to Judge Watkins’ ruling.
