In a recent article published by the Marietta Daily Journal (MDJ), Andrew Cole denied any significant connections to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) or its associated Super PAC, New Southern Majority PAC IE, which is actively working to flip the Cobb County Board of Education blue. According to the federal government’s website, a Super PACs may receive and spend unlimited amounts money for a candidate that is independent of a campaign. However, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that Cole’s involvement with the Super Pac and their California mega donors goes far deeper than the Democrat Candidate led the MDJ reporter to believe.

The radical left’s efforts to influence local school board elections are ramping up, and Cobb County, Georgia, is their latest battleground. In a stunning display of how far liberal extremists are willing to go, a California-funded super PAC linked to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is pouring money into the race to oust conservative voices from the Cobb County Board of Education.
At a press conference held at the Cobb County School District office, over 40 parents, students, and community members came together to support the School Board’s decision to remove what they described as “pornographic” books from school libraries.
Organized by local leaders like Pastor Francisco Vega, the event emphasized the community’s commitment to protecting children from inappropriate content. “We will not be silent,” said Arielle Kurtz, highlighting that the majority of Cobb parents stand behind the Board’s actions.
11 Alive news aired a ridiculous and obvious partisan hit piece posing as news segment entitled “Some Cobb County Public School parents concerned that safety isn’t on meeting agenda”. On the surface, the news segment appears to cover concerns from some Cobb County Public School parents regarding school safety. Allegedly, these parents were frustrated that the topic wasn’t included in a recent board meeting agenda. The parents express their desire for more transparency and urgency from the school board to address these critical issues and keep students safe.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) has come under fire after publishing a letter from Heather Tolley-Bauer, which had already been printed by the smaller Cobb County Courier.
Tolley-Bauer a political gadfly, known for her involvement with the radical activist group Watching the Funds, has actively opposed Republican members on the Cobb County School Board. Despite presenting herself as a concerned parent, she has been heavily involved in political efforts to flip the board to Democratic control, contributing both time and resources over the past three election cycles.
Once upon a time, Cobb County was still red, taxes were much lower and county employees were happier in their work. Controversies happened, but for the most part elected and appointed officials were competent and accountable.
I was thinking about an arrest, however, that happened just before I “retired” from my job as a columnist with the local newspaper. It had to do with free speech and it’s worth mentioning in the wake of the “Heil Hitler” incident percolating in the county today.
Cobb County residents are rallying against the proposed Mobility Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (M-SPLOST), a massive $11 billion tax hike over the next 30 years. Chairwoman Lisa Cupid and the Cobb County Board of Commissioners are pushing this tax, which would increase the average household’s tax burden by $500 annually, without delivering meaningful benefits to the community.
