I’ll hand it to the democrats, they sure know how to do damage control. In Georgia, both Sen. John Ossoff and Rep. Lucy McBath (Georgia’s 6th district) rolled out their CYA teams today, posing full on Pro-Laken, despite what we saw with our own eyes at President Trump’s address to Congress. But I’m not buying it.
Other than I’ve just never bought what dems are selling, here are the facts:
Lucy, a lackluster Congress member if ever there was one, announced an “exploratory committee” because now she wants to be the governor of Georgia. This happened not 24 hours after her cowardly refusal to stand or clap or offer any support for any American introduced at President Trump’s speech.

It was especially insulting to the Riley family of Georgia, since many of the initial articles reporting Lucy’s possible run features her “yes” vote on the Laken Riley Act which passed in Congress just after Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025.
What Lucy isn’t shouting from the rooftops is that she actually flipped from her initial NO stance after Trump was elected in November, one of 48 in Congress whose seats became suddenly endangered after the numbers came in on Trump’s coattails. Lucy never wanted to vote yes on that bill, yet she’s using her eventual YES vote to launch for higher office?!
It’s one of the tackiest things yet. She’s a mom who lost a son propelling her to a Congressional seat and now she uses the loss of another’s child to climb the ladder! She must REALLY want to be the country’s “first black female governor” if she can’t see the tacky and cruel irony in that. Who says some regular mom can’t rise to power out of nowhere, with zero experience and zero charisma? Just look at Lucy McBath.
And Ossoff….
Months ago I wrote to Georgia Sen. John Ossoff encouraging him to vote for the Laken Riley Act. For clarification, the bill signed into law as Trump’s first win in Congress requires federal immigration authorities to detain illegal immigrants who commit theft-related crimes in the U.S. It also allows states to sue the Department of Homeland Security for harm caused to their residents by illegal invaders.
Just after three o’clock the day after democrats’ embarrassing display at President Trump’s speech and their refusal to show support for Laken’s family in the gallery, I received this e-mail from Sen. Ossoff, touting his support for the Laken Riley bill.

A couple Google searches here and there reveal that like McBath, Ossoff was also wishy washy on the proposed legislation. On Jan. 8 of this year, nearly a full year after Laken’s murder, neither Warnock nor Ossoff had pledged support for the bill. The day before, Pennsylvania’s Fetterman was moved to cross the aisle, but our senators didn’t feel it. Shouldn’t THEY have been co-sponsoring the bill? One would think.
Instead, Ossoff teamed up with radical Sen. Patty Murray of Washington to offer Senate Amendment 21. They wanted to EXEMPT any criminal illegal alien from detention if they were “pregnant, nursing or post-partum.” Of course, everyone knows pregnant or nursing persons (I notice they never called them women) rarely commit theft, shoplift or commit crimes of any kind. WHAAAT? It doesn’t appear his amendment made it into the law, but it’s telling none the less. If you’re a woman claiming to be postpartum, Ossoff wants you to get a pass. Maybe even if you’re a man, based on democrat attitudes, who knows?
An article in Roll Call states that Ossoff’s seat is one of the most endangered, so of course it makes sense he would take credit for the eventual passing of Laken’s law. Coincidentally writing me back just today, the day after he didn’t have the courage to stand and clap for Laken’s grieving mom and sister.
Not sure about you, dear readers, but yours truly sees through these posers and I hope you will too.
