Just 3,275 Ballots Cast So Far in Cobb County as Voter Engagement Lags Ahead of June 18 Election
As the final day of advance voting arrives for Georgia’s Public Service Commission (PSC) special primary election, voter turnout remains strikingly low across Cobb County. As of Thursday evening, just 3,275 residents have cast early ballots, a small fraction of the county’s eligible voters.

With polls closing on advance voting today, Friday, June 13, election officials are encouraging citizens to take advantage of their last opportunity to vote early before the official Election Day on Tuesday, June 18.

This special election will determine who will fill the unexpired term for District 2 on the Public Service Commission, a body that plays a vital role in regulating Georgia’s utilities, ensuring fair rates, and maintaining energy reliability across the state. For conservatives who value energy independence, limited government, and fiscal accountability, this election is a crucial chance to support candidates who reflect those values.
Despite the stakes, turnout so far has been underwhelming. Low participation in these off-cycle and special elections is a recurring concern, especially when the positions at stake directly impact issues like utility rates, grid reliability, and regulatory overreach, matters that affect everyday Georgians.
Polling locations for early voting will remain open until 7 p.m. today at select sites throughout Cobb County. Voters can find their nearest early voting location and verify their registration at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
Let’s not leave this decision to a small handful of voters. Make your voice heard, and encourage your neighbors to do the same. Every vote counts, especially in a low-turnout race like this one.
