“Despite the rhetoric from republicans that immigrants in the United States are ‘lazy’ or ‘violent,’ the bulk of ICE raids- around 60%- happen at businesses while people are at work,” said Cobb County Democrat Chair Essence Johnson. “The Trump administration is taking advantage of the complicated and obstacle ridden immigration process to cruelly punish hard working members of our community for existing. Special Agent Steven Schrank seemed proud that he shuttered a small business based on a hunch.”
It’s no coincidence this narrative is being stirred now. The 2026 elections are on the horizon, and Democrats are desperate. They know that commonsense immigration enforcement resonates with the American people, especially in communities like Cobb County. So instead of engaging in honest policy debate, they launch smear campaigns to vilify the institutions that protect us.
If enforcing immigration law is now considered “cruel,” then Democrats have abandoned the very concept of a nation governed by the rule of law.
